the bergersen quartet

The Bergersen QuartetThe Bergersen String Quartet is a dynamic ensemble specialising in works by living composers, and is one of a handful of string quartets in the world trained in the extraordinary techniques of spectral music.

Current collaborators include film and theatre composer Terry Davies, contemporary writers Gregers Brinch, Simon Redfern and Peter Copley, musical theatre specialist Craig Adams, and spectral icons Iancu Dumitrescu and Ana-Maria Avram. Comprising four accomplished session musicians, the Bergersen Quartet have worked alongside and recorded for artists such as Jools Holland, Melody Gardot, Maritza, Tindersticks and George Michael, at studios including Abbey Road, Air, Angel, Strongroom and Dean Street.

In 2009, on top of a busy session music schedule, the Bergersen Quartet recorded contemporary works for Claudio Records and performed to great acclaim at the International Spectral Music Festival following intensive study in Romania. This year the Bergersen Quartet will be working on further recording projects and are in demand to perform in London, China and the USA.
